Bluetooth Commands Setup
This page describes how to map Bluetooth remote commands from your phone to commands in Vectir.
< Previous | Start | Finish >
1. Load a remote profile
If you have just completed the previous help topic, you should see a list of all remote profiles that are available on the Bluetooth server. Select the remote profile for which you would like to setup commands. If the remote profile holds an image, proceed to step 2. If the remote profile holds a list of menu commands, proceed to step 3.
2. Key command setup
2a.
When a profile image is loaded, the keys on your phones keypad are used to send commands to Vectir. The
profile image should show the function of each key.
2b.
Open the setup dialog in Vectir for the application or system function that you wish to control. For this
example, the play command from the Winamp application will be setup. When the setup dialog has opened, press the
Play/Pause button.
The "Event Learn" dialog should load to indicate that Vectir is in 'learn' mode and waiting for you to press a button on your phone.
2c.
Press the key on your phone that you wish to associate with the selected command in Vectir.
If the key was successfully mapped to the command, Vectir should show the "Event Saved" dialog. Click OK to close the dialog.
2d.
Map the remaining commands using the same method from 2b and 2c. When you have finished, click the OK button on the setup
dialog in Vectir. There should now be a command group in the "Commands" panel that shows all of the commands
you setup. These commands are now ready to use and you may start controlling your computer with your phone!
2e.
If there is a menu command list associated with the profile, i.e. press the menu button (#) on your keypad and
a menu pops up, you can map these commands in a similar fashion by selecting the menu items. Step 3 explains
menu commands.
3. Menu command setup
When a profile menu command list is loaded, commands are sent to Vectir by selecting menu items.
3a.
Load a profile that holds menu commands or load the menu command list that is associated with an image profile. You should now
see a list of all menu commands on your phones display:
3b.
To map menu commands from your phone to commands in Vectir, follow steps 2b to 2d above but select menu items
instead of pressing keys on your keypad.
