The Bluetooth remote client on your mobile phone, communicates with the PC Bluetooth server over a virtual COM (serial) port. You will need to use your Bluetooth software to create a virtual COM port for Vectir to use.
The instructions for viewing or setting up virtual COM ports will vary between different Bluetooth stacks and setup software. The following list of Bluetooth software stacks states if they have been tested or are known to be compatible with Vectir:
- Broadcomm/Widcomm - Tested and compatible
- Toshiba - Tested and compatible
- Microsoft - Tested and compatible (15-Feb-2008)
- BlueSoleil - Tested and compatible (10-March-2008)
Example instructions are provided for the Toshiba, Broadcomm (Widcomm) and Microsoft Bluetooth stacks.
If you are not sure which Bluetooth stack you have installed, try clicking on the Bluetooth icon in the system tray and seeing which menu popus up. Examples are provided here for identifying the Toshiba, Broadcomm/Widcomm and Microsoft Bluetooth stacks.
