Vectir Pro Development has started!
Development has started on Vectir Pro, a new and improved version of Vectir that will feature many upgrades and enhancements. If you have any ideas or features that you would like to see in Vectir Pro, please feel free to email them to support@vectir.com. Thank you to everyone who has provided feedback and ideas so far.
Here is a summary of the new features and upgrades planned for Vectir Pro:
Bluetooth Remote Control upgrades and features:
- "Out of the box" support will be provided for all main applications (no command setup)
- True "plug and play" will be provided for all main Bluetooth stacks (no COM port setup)
- Existing "key to command" mapping will still be included for custom setup
- PC screen will be able to be viewed from phone and navigated/zoomed with mouse control
- Dynamic playback information will be available for supported media players
- Plugins will be given access to Bluetooth Remote Control features
Vectir upgrades and features:
- Keyboard control will be provided for custom control of virtually any application
- Mouse control be updated and improved
- Existing media player plugins will be upgraded to provide access to more player features
- A PowerPoint plugin will be developed and have its features made available to the Bluetooth Remote control
- User configurable macro commands or scripts will be supported
- An SDK will be made available to allow users to create their own plugins
- A task manager screen will be supported to allow user configured tasks/commands to be remotely viewed and selected
- All applications running on the PC will be able to be viewed and selected from the task manager screen or phone
- The Vectir website will be upgraded to include a forum and allow users to upload custom plugins or scripts

Vectir 1.13 released
Updates in this release:
The Bluetooth remote control server has been updated to help the client recover from Bluetooth error conditions.
Bluetooth Remote Control 1.03 released
Updates in this release:
- The correct service URL is now obtained for each new connection.
- Comms protocol updated to handle various Bluetooth error conditions.
- Connection log now displayed while client is connecting to server.
Vectir 1.12 released
Updates in this release:
The Bluetooth Remote control server has been updated to support the BlueSoleil Bluetooth stack and provide
more detailed information in the server log.
Skip forward/back 10 seconds commands are now supported by the Winamp control plugin.
Bluetooth Remote Control 1.02 released
An initial menu screen has been added to the Bluetooth Remote control Java midlet to give the user a choice of
options before connecting to the server.
COM port connection reliability has also been improved.
Vectir 1.11 released
The most significant update with this release is the addition of support for the Microsoft Bluetooth
stack from the Bluetooth Remote control server.
The Windows Media Player plugin has also been updated to comply with a Windows Vista security update.
Bluetooth Remote Control 1.01 released
Mobile phones that run the Symbian operating system are now supported by the Bluetooth remote control Java midlet (v1.01). This should include most phones running the series 60 platform. A list of phones that run the Symbian OS are provided at: www.symbian.com/phones Tested devices include the Nokia N80, Nokia N73 and Nokia 5700.
Beta release of Bluetooth Remote available!
Beta release of Bluetooth remote control available! The Vectir Bluetooth remote control solution will allow you to control all supported applications and features with a Bluetooth enabled mobile phone. It consists of a Java midlet for a Bluetooth enabled mobile phone and a Bluetooth server plugin for Vectir. The latest Vectir release (v1.10) includes the Bluetooth remote server plugin. The Java midlet is available from the Bluetooth remote page and the Bluetooth Remote server plugin is available from the hardware downloads page. Setup instructions are available from the support page.
Vectir 1.10 released
Vectir 1.10 is released. This is the first stable release of Vectir and has minor updates and bug fixes as a result of the beta testing. Thank you to everyone who took part in the beta testing and gave valuable feedback.
Vectir beta edition released
Vectir beta edition is released! Beta testers are welcome to try out Vectir and report any feedback about usabilitiy, features or bugs. Vectir is currently available for a free, unlimited download. At this stage it is intended to keep it this way.
The beta release has application support for Winamp, iTunes and Windows Media Player. Hardware support is included for the USB-UIRT and Tira-2 devices.
