Plugins

Most of the functionality that Vectir provides is through plugins. A plugin can be thought of as a small application that "plugins in" to Vectir to provide additional functionality or features. Vectir's plugins are all provided with DLL (Dynamic Link Library) files. The Winamp functionality for example, is provided with the Winamp.dll plugin.

Vectir plugins are grouped into three differenct classifications:

  • Application plugins - Plugins that control or interact with another software application such as Winamp, iTunes or Windows Media Player.
  • System plugins - Plugins that control a certain aspect of your operating system, such as shutting down windows.
  • Hardware plugins - Plugins that control a hardware device such as the USB-UIRT or Tira.
